A virus escapes from a lab and turns people into murderous zombies. Brendan Gleeson wakes up 28 days later to find most of the UK population dead. He meets a three survivors and heads to Manchester where some military personal, led by Christopher Ecclestone, have a created a camp. Danny Boyle has managed to produce a thinking mans zombie film, that examines how people deal with the situation, rather than being full of blood and gore.
