This is the classic space trip conspiracy story. As the first manned mission to Mars is about to lift off the astronauts are taken off the rocket and then fake the journey and landing to cover up problems with the mission. This is a well constructed story that develops well as the astronauts realise the danger they are in and the attempt to expose the conspiracy.
