Anne Hathaway is a gawky young woman who gets a job as assistant to the egotistical editor (Meryl Streep) of a major New York fashion magazine. Hathaway is then torn between the job, her principles, her boyfriend and her freinds. A strong performance from Meryl Streep whilst Anne Hathaway gives a good performance in her first adult role.
