Ricky Gervais is a dentist with no social skills who after being dead for several minutes on the operating table is able to see ghosts. On of the ghosts (Greg Kinnear) tries to persuade him to get his ex wife (Tea Leoni) to break up with her new fiance. This is an average interpretation of a well worn plot.
