On mars in the future, a small police squad is sent by train to collect a violent criminal from a mining settlement. However the mining operation has disturbed the ghosts of the original inhabitants, who have started killing the humans. The basic plot my not be original (see Assault on Precinct 13 and Rio Bravo), but as always with John Carpenter does it with great style and builds the tension and drama well.
