Arthur Dent finds his friend Ford Prefect is actually an alien and the earth is about to be destroyed by the Vogons to make way for a hyperspace bypass. He is then transported off on an adventure to find the meaning of life, the universe and everthing. This is the film version of the cult radio series/book/TV programme. As a student I listened to the radio programme on my new stereo radio, so I am biased to the original radio version. This film brought the story to a new generation but lacks the creativity and humour of the original, despite some good performances from an impressive cast..
