Jack Lemmon is a successful batchelor who draws cartoons. He goes to a stag night and in a drunken state marries the Italian girl (Virna Lisi) who came out of the cake. He starts to adapt to married life, but when he writes a cartoon in which his character kills his wife, his real wife disappears and he is accused of her murder.
