Comment
In the build up to the explosion of Krakotoa (in 1883) a mixed group of treasure seekers are on a ship to find trreasure in a sunken ship of Diane Baker's husband and also to find her son.For a film that is over 2 hours long there is surprisingly little plot and very little charcter development Whilst on one level there are all sorts of problems with this film (why does Barbara Wherle sing a song whilst taking off most of her clother and the motor on the ballon would never work), the effects and the build up to the final erruption do make this film well worth watching. The incidental music and sound effects, especially in the first half of the film contribute well to the overall feel of the film.
