The first manned mission to mars comes to a disastrous end and only Don Cheadle survives. Gary Sinise then leads a rescue mission to find out what happened. This is a mixture of disaster film and contact with aliens/ Ther are some good scenes in space, but the acting and dialogue is very flat, particularly in the disaster scenes and this probably contributed to this being a major flop at the box office..
