A newly released prisoner (Bob Hoskins) gets a job driving a high class call girl (Cathy Tyson) to her clients. Initially they don't get on, but he gains respect for her as they search a violent and drug fuelled underworld for a teenager forced to be a prostitute. Bob Hoskins gives a good performance as the small time gangster finding a coincidence. Robbie Coltrane has a strange part as confident to Bob Hoskins and Michael Caine plays the typical London gangster.
