Harrison Ford is an inventor who moves his wife (Helen Mirren) and four children (including RIver Phoenix) to the central American jungle and builds a giant ice making machine. As an idealist he wants to build a new society that is not the decadent American way of life. The world does however intrude into his idealism. Harrison Ford and his character over dominate the film and Helen Mirren's talents are underused. This was not one of Harrison Ford's blockbuster films of the 1980's, despite some good direction from Peter Weir. |
