A group of the US army under Frank SInatra are helping the Kachin in Burma during World War 2 fight against the Japanese. When the Chinese nationalists attack American troops, they take retribution and cause diplomatic waves. This is very wordy and worthy despite a good cast list. Sinatra is not convincing as an actions hero, and is overshadowed by McQueen and Bronson. The sultry performance of Gina Lollobrigida is the higjlight of the film.
