A disfigured musical genius, living his life hidden in an opera house, coaches a young chorus girl and then gets rid of the leading lady so the young girl can take over the lead role. He is jealous of her love for her childhood sweetheart, so kidnaps her into the bowels of the opera house. This is an impressive version of the very successful Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical, that is well produced and starred the then unknown Emmy Rossum.
