Ginger Rogers comes from a poor family with a drunken father and prostitute for a mother and then one day she meets Joel McCrae who runs a restaurant. She does not tell him about her family, until one day after they are married they go to visit them with disastorous consequences. This has a good performance from Ginger Rogers in one of her dramatic roles.
