Sharon Stone rides into a small western town that is dominated by Gene Hackman who is organising a gunfighting tournament for a large financial prize. However the people involved are there for a variety of motives. The strength of the film is in the performance of Gene Hackamn as the man in charge and Leonardo DiCaprio as the young pretender, who are ably supported by Russell Crowe as the ex-gunfighter turned priest dragged into the competition. Unfortunately Sharon Stone is unconvincing as the woman seeking revenge.
