A variation on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale. A young girl loves a young man. He is abducted by the Snow Queen and she goes out to rescue him. The highlight of this film is the performance of Bridget Fonda as the Snow Queen, but overall this is too long and too slow in the first half to be effective. This would have been OK if the direction and editing had removed all the unnecessary scenes.
