Ivan Lebedeff's film career was in America having emigrated from the Russian Empire. He appeared in a variety of films from the 1920's through to the 1950's often playing the sophisticated foreigner, though generally in supporting roles. He was the lead actor in The Gay Diplomat but it was a commercial and critical failure.
