Career / Biography

Gracie Fields (born Grace Stansfield) was a popular British actress, singer and comedian particularly between the 1930's and the 1950's. She was known for her support of allied troops in WW2 as she sang in various battle zones and her work was acknowledged by her being awarded the DBE shortly before her death on the island of Capri where she had lived for many years.
