A struggling playright (Victor Mature) meets a store model (Jean Simmons). The story of the ups and downs of their relationship and marriage are told in a series of flashbacks from friends who knew them after a gossip columnist wrongly announces thata they are getting divorced. Jean Simons gives a fine performance as the woman supporting her struggling husband and then coping with marriage, family and success. Victor Mature was really too old to be convincing as her lover but the rest of the cast is solid and overall this a good romance for the period.
