When a husband's (Paul Lukas) business is struggling, his wife (Helen Vison) leaves him and marries a rich man. Her mother-in-law out of spite tries to get her to take their son away from him. Meanwhile his business takes an upturn and feelings develop between him and his secretary (Madge Evans). It ends up with a courtroom battle between the husband and the wife's new fmaily that turns the end of the film into an emotional tearjearker.
