Comment/Synopsis

A man with a long history of his family being naval captains has a problem with sea sickness, so after being dicharged from the navy after World War 2 he buys a derelict seaside pier and turns it into a successful busniess despite the opposition of the local town council. This is not the best of the Ealing Comedies nor the best of Alec Guiness's comedies, but he is entertaining as he changes his attitudes.
