The daughter (Olivia De Haviland) of the American Ambassador in Paris is bored entertaining wives of dignitaries so takes on a bet with her father, a senator (Adolphe Menjou) and a general that the not all American service men are scounderals and she has a chance meeting with one (John Forsythe). This is a light romantic comedy that is made by the performance of Olivia De Haviland as she pretends to be French model as she falls in love with John Forsythe, as things get complicated she is supported by Myra Loy as the Senator's wife. The visits to the fashion shows are enhanced by the dress from Christian Dior.
