In the aftermath of the American civil war, two men running a boat down the river pick up a cargo of cattle. When they are not paid, they keep the cattle, buy up land and become cattle ranchers. There follows a series of adventures, misadventures and love as they build their empire. This is a fair story of cattle ranching with solid performances from the three lead characters.
