During World War 2 and American journalist (Lana Turner) is having an affair with a British journalist (Sean Connery). Just after he admits to having a wife and a child, he is killed and so she goes to Cornwall and meets his wife (Glynis Johns) and child. It is really a film of two halves, but it is the second half where Glynis Johns unknowingly befriends Lana Turner and it is Glynis Johns performance that is the highlight.
