Nicole Kidman is an English woman who inherits a large cattle ranch in Australia in the lead up to World War 2. In order to save the ranch she has a drive a herd of cattle across unforgiving country and ends up in Darwin as the Japanese bomb it. This is a spralling epic that whilst it is good in parts and Nicole Kidman gives s good performance ends up getting lost by trying to be too many things.
