In the Canadian forrests a woman's father is killed by an outlaw, she then marries a adventurer and writer and they go on a boat trip only to find the Captain is the killer and they are stranded in the remote arctic. This film is know as the earliest surviving Canadian feature film and for Nell Shipman's, however what makes this film interesting is that whilst dealing with murder and attempted rape, it is the strong and resourceful character of Nell Shipman that comes through. Not many films of this period have the plot revolving around a woman. Whilst there are some problems with the logic of the plot , it is worth watching considering its time
