A Jewish school teacher (Robyn Cohen) has a non-Jewish boyfriend but does not want to tell her very Jewish parents who keep trying to pair her off with eligable men. So she invents a boyfriend who is a doctor and hires an actor to play the part. Although he is not Jewish, as she asked for, he manages to play the part, impresses the parents and after being asked to take the role on several occasions starts to impress her as well. This is a pleasant variation on the romantic comedy theme and sympathetic to the Jewish traitions.
