Comment/Synopsis
A young hot shot doctor is on her way to Chicago when she gives a ride to three sailors and stops off for the night in her old home town with her uncle who is the local doctor. Her uncle and a test pilot from the local base conspire together to persuade her to stay, by the pilot pretending to be slightly mad. Although the plan is for her to become the local doctor, romance soons comes into the picture. This is an enjoyable light romantic comedy, with a good performance from Ruth Hussey in the lead, and also from the other supporting female roles. The basic plot was reworked in 1991 as Doc Hollywood.
