A prophecy is given that the young twin will kill the older twin, but then the unpleasant older twin kills the pleasant young twin and impersonates him to keep his power and marry the woman in love with someone else. The plot and the script are nothing special, but what makes the film is the performance from Boris Karloff. He plays both twins who are very different charcters and plays them convincingly. Marion Marsh is elegant as the love interest.
