Boris Karloff introduces 3 unrelated horror stories. A nurse steals a ring from a dead witch with deadly consequences. A woman is terrorised by phone calls from a man she thinks is dead. A vampire terrorises a family and a stranger who stumbles upon them. Boris Karloff is the vampire in the final story and the only time he played a vampire. The first two stories are the better stories as they have good suspense and twist and good cinematography from Mario Bava. The heavy metal band Black Sabbath named themselves after this film.
