During the making of a film in Hawaii, an actress (Dorothy Revier) is stabed to death and Charlie Chan (Warner Oland) is called in to investigate and links it back to a previous murder in Hollywood. This is an early entry into the Charlie Chan series of films (number 5) and whilst the plot does have its problems the supporting cast (Bela Lugosi as the mystic, Dorothy Revier as the actress and Sally Eilers as her friend) make this an enjoyable murder mystery to watch.
