A doctor convicted of murdering a patient is sent to a prison for the criminally insane where the governor and his disfigured assistant are experimenting on the inmates, but the governor is actually a vampire. This is a horror film rather than a vampire film. The vampire part comes from the experiments on blood transfusion.The script is not the best and Barbara Shelley has very little to do with a bland character.
