A man (George Sanders) falls in love with a gold digging singer (Corinne Calvert) and then starts meeting and killing wealthy widows to fund her greed. This is a stylish thriller as George Sanders goes around cold bloodiedly murdering wealthy widows. There are some good supporting performances from the women (Patricia Roc, Jean Kent and Greta Gynt) who are his victims. The film is loosely based of the real life story of Henri Landru.
