Comment
In the late 1950's a young widow (Emily Mortimer) moves to small rural village to open a bookshop where she meets oposition from some of the locals though gets support from an unlikely recluse (Bill Nighy). THis film is well acted and well produced, though the problem is that there is very little plot and hence it moves slowly. It explores relationships and life in English villages. If you want to watch a thoughtful well produced film then this is for you but if you want intricate plots then it is not. Emily Mortimer is very good in the lead and there is good support from Bill Nighy.
