Ben Affleck is waiting for a flight and swaps his ticket for another man so that the other man can get home to his family. After the plane crashes killing the man, Ben Affleck goes into a depression, but then decides to try and help the widow (Gwyneth Paltrow). They fall in love, but she does not know his part in her life.
