A young layer (Keanu Reeves) is sent to Transylvania to complete a land purchase with Count Dracula (Gary Oldman). He and the count come to England where the Dracula feeds off the best friend (Sadie Frost) of the lawyers fiance (Winona Ryder) whilst looking for a woman who is the image of his dead lover. This is a lavish and visually impressive version of the dracula story from Francis Ford Coppola with a a different interpretation of Count Dracula from previous films. There are also good performances from Kenau Reeves, Winona Ryder and and Anthony Hopkins (as van Helsing). Gary Oldman manages to play the three diferent facets of of Dracula's character whilst at the same time holding them together in common abring the monster and the humanity together.
