Robert Mitchum is a retired private eye who now runs a petrol station, however his past catches up with him as he gets drawn back into a web of lies, murder and double crossing and with Jane Greer as the two timing femme fatal character in this typical film noir style thriller. This is one of serveral fiilm noir style films made by Jaques Tourneur at this time.
