Comment/Synopsis

Bulldog Drummond is wealthy and bored, so advertises for adventure and gets involved in rescuing the uncle of a woman who is being held and forced to sign over his fortune. This was Ronald Colman's first talkie film and showed off his acting talents and also how his voice suited these early sound films. The gentleman adventurer was a character he returned to several times in his career and to which he was well suited. Lilyan Tashman gives an entertaining performance as the leader of the criminal gang, but not the best performance from Joan Bennett.
