Fatty Arbuckle working in a store gets incolved in various slapstick fights and comic entanglements. When the cashier (Alice Lake) he is in love with is sent away to boarding school, he dresses up as a girl and follows her, as does his rival and more comic complications develop. This was Buster Keaton's first film role and the first of 14 with Fatty Arbuckle.
