An aspiring song writer (Dick Van Dyke) and his girlfriend (Janet Leigh) come up with a plan to sell records by getting an unknown female fan (Ann-Margaret) to kiss the worlds most popoular rock star live on television before he is drafted into the military. The film is based on the Broadway stage musical. The plot is now dated and it does show its stage origins in places. However there are some good musical numbers (Put On A Happy Face), but the highlight of the film are the dance numbers from Ann-Margret in the last third of the film.
