A doctor (Lon CHaney Jr) wakes up with no memory of the previous two days and finds his wife has been murdered and he is a suspect, but another man is convicted of the murder. His nurse (Patricia Morison) is infatuated with him and helps him self hypnotise to find out if he really is the killer. There is a good performance from Lon Chaney Jr as the doctor becoming paranoid that he murdered his wife. Although the actual murderer is obvious from early in the film, it is a well worked plot.
