The Roman 9th Legion is fighting the Picts in northern Britain when it is decimated in an attack by the Picts having been betrayed. A small group of Roman soldiers are left deep in enemy territory and attempt the long and dangerous journey back to Roman held territory whilst being trailed by a band of Picts. The journey is a war of attrition between the two groups. This is violent and bloody retelling of the mysterious loss of the 9th Legion. This is a slasher film set in Roman britain, but minus any plot or suspense. The highlight of the film is Olga Kurylenko as the Pict tracker and warrior who is counterbalanced by the gentle and supportive Imogen Poots.
