This film has a complex plot of Chinese warriors recovering a stolen sword in a mixture of action, drama and love. This is a visually stunning film from director Ang Lee including the impressive fight scenes set in tree tops. There is plenty of balletic wire work that is impressive. Whilst this is about the martial arts and the quest, the film really revolves around the relationship between the two lead characters. This was the most successful foreign language film at the American box office.
