A French explorer enlists the American military to help with an expedition to the South Pole. It turns into a battle between airships and airplanes as well as ambition, love friendship and disaster. This is a mixture of disaster movie, polar exploration and the cost of fame and ambition. The production quality is good given when the film was made, though Fay Wray does get little screen time.
