Kirsten Dunst and Denise Richards are two rivals in an annual teenage American beauty pageant. However Kirsty Alley is Denise Richards mother as well as organising the pageant and being a former winner is determined that her daughter will win at all costs and get to the national finals. This is an entertaining send up of small town America and beauty pageants, with a good tongue in cheek performance from the increasingly desperate Kirsty Alley. This is a good comedy with some good performances from some young stars (including Kirsten Dunst, Denise Richards, Amy Adams and Brittany Murphy).
