Julie Walters is a hairdresser from Liverpool joins the Open University and finds more than just education. An interesting view of the effects of higher education on a mature person, from an environment where academic study is not the norm. Great performances from Michael Caine as the drunken lecturer and Julie Walters as the aspirational housewife.
