During a long space war between earth and an alien race an earth soldier (Dennis Quaid) crash lands on an alien planet only to find that there is also a stranded soldier from his enemy. Despite being enemies at war that end up having to work together and help each other to survive. This film is in many ways about science fiction (though the alien world and sets are good) and more about the futility of war, tolerance and basic humanity.
