Comment/Synopsis

In the future, New York is a giant prison colony into which the US President ends up being taken hostage and Russell is the condemed prisoner who is sent to rescue the president in exchange for his life. It is a dark dystopian future of a decaying New York. This is the first main film combination of director John Carpenter and actor Kurt Russell.
