Comment/Synopsis

After his daughter (Elizabeth Taylor) announces she is getting married, a father (Spencer Tracy) gets caught up in all the preparations of the wedding. This is all about wedding preparations but told from the standpoint of the father of the bride. Spencer Tracy gives a great almost understated performance as the father coming to terms with losing his daughter to her new husband. There is good support from Elizabeth Taylor as his daughter and Joan Bennett as his wife. The film was renake in 1991 with Steve Martin in the lead role.
