A woman (Barbara Stanwyck) visits a private detective, but instead meets the assistant ditrict attorney, and she starts an affair with him, even though he is a married man. When her rich aunt is murdered she tries to cover up the affair, but ends up being charged with murder and he is the prosecutor. Barbara Stanwyck gives a good performance as the woman with a murky past and present, who is not as innocent as she seems. This is a good variation of the film noir style of film.
